Show Page The Ogden Valley news Volume XVI Issue I December 15, 2008 Announcements Birthdays Melba E. Colvin Melba E. Colvin of Roy celebrated her 95th birthday with an open house for family and friends on Saturday, December 6 in the Primary room of the North Park LDS Ward Melba Colvin in Roy. She was born to William and Laura Montgomery on November 24, 1913 in Eden, where she spent her childhood. She graduated from Weber High School. She married Lorenzo “Doc” Colvin on January 7, 1932 in Idaho. Their vows were solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on Weddings April 21, 1961. They lived in California; and in Eden, Ogden, and Roy, Utah. He died in November 1993. She enjoys gardening. Her hobbies include reading, crocheting, knitting, and tatting. Throughout the years she has made baby booties, donating many to the LDS Church to put in kits for needy infants. She has held many positions in the church—mostly associated with music. She still does her visiting teaching every month, and also wrote a history of the Eden LDS Ward. Her children are Deneese and Russell (deceased) Keoppel, and Lynn and Robert Burt. She has nine grandchildren, 16 greatgrandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. Graduations Sergeant Rachel Tesch Completes Nursing Course LTC Smith presents diploma to SGT Rachel Tesch at graduation ceremony held in September. Rachel Tesch recently completed the Practical Nurse Course with class 07-10 while a member of D Company BAMC (Brooke Army Medical Center). During the thirteen-month extensive course, Rachel was able to maintain an eighty-seven percent average and fulfill other Army obligations such as physical training, duties as squad leader, and barracks NCO. During the nine months of clinical rotations at BAMC, Rachel was privileged to experience a variety of nursing opportuni- ties in the following areas: cardiac/telemetry unit; medical/surgical floor; trauma, surgical, and medical intensive care units; burn ward; labor and delivery; adolescent/ pediatric clinics; pediatric medical and intensive care units; cardiac step-down unit; post-anesthesia care unit; and the primary care unit, as well as the GI lab, dialysis, and emergency room. Rachel is currently a member of B Company, 328th Combat Support Hospital in Salt Lake City. She is currently working as a licensed practical nurse with Intermountain Health Care in pediatric psychiatry. Rachel is the “favorite child” of Garth W. and E. Trudy Tesch of Liberty! I am for those tiny, invisible loving human forces that work from individual to individual, creeping through the crannies of the world like so many rootlets, or like the capillary oozing of water, which, if given time, will rend the hardest monuments of pride. Abbey and Evan Wagley Jeremy John and Marlene LaRee Wright Knudtson-Wagley See-Wright Abbey and Evan Wagley were married August 16, 2008 in the San Diego Temple. Abbey is the daughter of Scott and Linda Knudtson of Liberty, Utah. She graduated from Foothill High School in Pleasanton, California in 2003, and is currently attending San Diego State University working toward her Bachelor Degree in Interior Design. Evan is the son of Randy Wagley and Boni Scott both of San Diego, California. He graduated from University City High School in San Diego in 1999 and served an LDS mission in the Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Mission. He is currently completing a degree in Business Administration from San Diego State University. The couple made their home in San Diego, California after returning from a honeymoon to Cancun, Mexico. Jeremy John and Marlene LaRee Wright were married for time and all eternity in the Mount Timpanogos, Utah LDS Temple on October 24, 2008. Marlene is the daughter of Brian and Cheryl See of Huntsville. She graduated from Maple Grove High School in Minnesota and from BYU in 2005 with a BA in Exercise Science. She also graduated with a degree in Dental Hygiene from the Utah College of Dental Hygiene in 2007, and is currently employed by Dr. Hoopes in his Ogden office. Jeremy is the son of Kenny and Debbie Wright of Nordic Valley. He graduated from Weber High School in 2004 and served an LDS mission in the Arizona, Tucson Spanish Speaking Mission. He is currently completing a degree in Business Administration from Weber State University, and works at Grizzly Graphics in Ogden. The couple made their home in Riverdale after returning from a honeymoon cruise to the Caribbean. Telleson-Clark Alexsis Telleson and Steven Michael Clark will be united in eternal marriage on December 16 in the Salt Lake Temple. Following the wedding, a reception in their honor at the Wells Fargo Building in Salt Lake City will take place. The bride is the daughter of Alyson Draper of Tremonton and Doug and Betsy Telleson of Huntsville. Parents of the bridegroom are Jerry and Jolyn Clark of Smithfield.
