Show Page The Ogden Valley news Volume XV Issue XXIV December 1, 2008 Announcements Weddings Dallen and Robyn Adams Dallen and Robyn Adams Dallen and Robyn were married for time and all eternity in the Ogden, Utah LDS Temple on November 15, 2008. Robyn is the daughter of Tom and Sandie Shupe of Liberty, Utah. She gradu- Obituaries ated from Weber High School in 2001 and graduated from Weber State University in 2006 with a Bachelor Degree in Computer System Technologies and is currently employed at Hill Air Force Base. Robyn grew up in the small town of Liberty, Utah on a dairy farm with her family. She spent most of her time helping out around the farm including milking dairy cows. Dallen is the son of Jerry and Lynnette Adams of Blanding, Utah. He graduated from San Juan High School in 2003 and graduated from College of Eastern Utah San Juan Campus with his Associates Degree in 2006. He is attending Weber State University and will graduate in May 2009 with his Bachelors of Integrated Studies Degree. His areas of emphasis are Family & Child Communications, Physical Education & Coaching/Recreation. Dallen is currently employed at Mill Creek Youth Center Juvenile Justice Center. Dallen is planning on continuing his education and earning his Masters Degree in the near future. The two will make their home in Ogden after they honeymoon in Park City. 1934 – 2008 Marriner A Shaw passed away November 5, 2008 of respiratory heart failure. Marriner was born March 29, 1934 in Liberty, Utah to Arial Marriner Shaw and Sophie Shaw, the youngest of seven children. Marriner lived in Liberty, Utah until he joined the service in 1954 thru 1956. He married Patricia Kammeyer in 1958. Patricia passed away in 1976. Together they had two children; Curtis and Kellie Shaw and two stepdaughters; Karla (Bobby) O’Dell and Connie Sorenson. In 1977, Marriner married Mildred George, making their home in Roy, Utah. Marriner worked at the Ogden Brick Yard and at Ogden Defense Depot until his retirement in 1995. Marriner farmed the family farm in Liberty, Utah with his brothers and his son until the last year of his life. He would Silvio Joseph Parisi “Seve” Confirmation Catherine Bloom, 15, daughter of Ken and Donna Bloom of Eden, has confirmed her faith at Ascension Lutheran Church in Harrisville on Reformation Sunday held October 26, 2008. She completed three years Catherine Bloom of study of Luther’s Marriner A. Shaw Small Catechism, The Old Testament, and The New Testament. She attends Weber High School. (breakfast served all day!!) Silvio Joseph Parisi “Seve,” 98, passed away at his home on Wednesday, November 5, 2008. He was born October 24, 1910 in Beaverdale, Silvio Parisi Pennsylvania to Joseph and Emma Profaizer Parisi. At the age of four, his family returned to Italy where he lived until coming back to the United States in 1930. In Italy, Silvio learned to finish furniture and he became a master at this craft. Silvio worked at the Depot Grocery in West Weber and then retired from St. Benedict’s Hospital at the age of 75. He was a Tech 5-Support in the U.S. Army, serving in World War II as a member of the European Theatre from 1942 to 1945. Silvio married Alma Colleni on November 9, 1940 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Ogden. He and Alma have lived in West Weber for 68 years and was say that he loved the peace and quiet of the valley, sitting on the tractor watching the crops growing in the gentle breeze. He enjoyed farming, fishing, traveling, and being around his family. Surviving is his wife of 30 years, Mildred of Roy; one son, Curtis (Susan); one daughter, Kellie Shaw; stepdaughter Kathy (Roger) Bute; stepsons Duwayne (Charlotte) George and Larry George (deceased); one sister, LuLean (George) Stewart; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Maxine Rasmussen; four brothers, Russell, Blair, Reed, and Leslie Shaw; and one grandson. He was greatly loved and will be missed by all. Funeral services were held Saturday, November 8, 2008 at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 S. 1900 W. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Utah Food Bank, Attn: Nina, 1025 S. 700 W., SLC, Utah 84104 Interment, Washington Heights Memorial Park. a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Men’s Club, and the Trentini Italians of Utah. Surviving are his wife, Alma, of West Weber; two daughters, Marcia Parisi of Ogden and Elaine (Thomas J.) Halliday of Eden; four grandchildren; and nine greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and one sister. Funeral Mass was held Saturday, November 8, 2008 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 4050 S. 3900 W., West Haven. Interment, Ogden City Cemetery where Military Honors were accorded. The family would like to thank Carrie, Peter, Rachel, Julie, and Kelly from Applegate Hospice for their help and concern. We are thankful for wonderful neighbors and friends in West Weber and the Italian community for their kindness. We especially thank Tammy and Gringo for loving our Dad as we do.
