Show Volume XV Issue XI The Ogden Valley news Page May 15, 2008 A Call to Action–Grounded in Grace Community Peace Vigil Grounded in Grace Community held the screening of The Moses Code—a thoughtprovoking movie promoting peace and awareness. The screening was held at The Ogden Valley Branch of the Weber County Library on April 5. The movie suggests that peace starts in the hearts and lives of each one of us; the movie was a call to action for all to do likewise. “It was truly inspiring to watch this wonderfully uplifting movie with so many people from the Upper Ogden Valley. To my knowledge, there were also people from Centerville to North Ogden. After watching the movie twice, I know that love and change starts with me. It is possible to unite as a human race to make this world a better place by accepting and embracing all people,” said Michael Benjamin. Several of the attendees participated in a vigil for peace the following day, Sunday, April 6. Thousands of people worldwide joined to pray for peace in the Middle East. “Together we can realize our own destiny of creating a world based upon the laws of compassion and peace,” states James Twymen, author of The Moses Code. Grounded in Grace Community would like to thank all those who participated in the Introductory Gathering, and look forward to offering more thought-provoking, positive, and inspiring events. “Our next gathering will be our Grounded in Grace Community Healing Arts Gathering, promoting wellness through conventional and alternative healing modalities and practices. We will have local healing arts practitioners speaking and networking with the public, sharing their wisdom and information on the latest technologies and practices for healing body, mind, and spirit,” says Alison Benjamin of Eden. One can find more information on Grounded in Grace Community at <GiGCommunity.com> Due to demand, the Benjamin’s will be personally holding a second screening of The Moses Code movie. The team finished 4-4 in league play, and 4th in the final regular season standings. Only four teams qualify for the playoffs; so, for the 1st time in six years, the Lady Skyhawks played in the post-season tournament. Their first round game was against South Ogden Jr. High, which would go on to take the district championship. The girls gave South some great competi- tion and stayed close until the final minutes of the game. In an early season 8th grade tournament played in Morgan, the 8th grade girls and one seventh grader brought home the championship trophy by defeating North Summit and Morgan. Kevin Jones filled in as coach at that tournament, as Coach Baker and Coach Olsen were unable to be there. Congratulations to the Lady Skyhawks on a great 2008 season.
