Show Volume XV Issue VI The Ogden Valley news Page March 1, 2008 Announcements (cont. from page 6) Obituaries Marge was one of the first employees of the Defense Depot Ogden (Utah General Depot), and during her 33-year career she worked in many administrative and supervisory positions. She was respected by her peers, supervisors, and those she supervised. She retired in 1974. She was active in the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and loved her bridge club. Surviving are one brother, D. Clyde Shaw; three nephews, Dennis (Dianne) Shaw; Steven (Nancy) Shaw; Michael (Jana) Shaw; one niece, Judy (Michael) Grover; and ten grandnieces and grandnephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, and her son, Richard Hansen. The family wishes to thank all her caregivers for their love and compassion on Marge’s behalf. Funeral services were held Saturday, February 16, 2008 at Myers Mortuary Chapel in Ogden. Interment, Ogden City Cemetery. Maude Alice Holmes Maude Alice Holmes, 94, passed away February 15, 2008. She was born December 30, 1913 in Wilson, Weber County, Utah, a daughter of William Mosiah and Johanna A. Ibel Holmes. Maude attended Maude Alice Holmes school in Wilson and graduated from Weber High School in 1932. She attended Weber State College (University) and received an associate degree. Maude continued her education at Brigham Young University, University of Utah, University of Southern California, and completed her degree at Utah State University. She taught 23 years in the Weber County School District at Weber High School, Wahlquist Jr. High School, Wilson, West Weber and Kanesville. She then taught 14 years at Ogden High School. She taught in the English Departments at both high schools. Maude served two different times as Beauty & the Beast secretary-treasurer of the Weber Education Teachers Association. She was responsible for the first Weber High School radio programs on KLO and KVOG. Maude was engaged to be married to Thomas B. Doxey when he passed away June 18, 1976. They were sealed in the Oakland Temple January 29, 1979. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many positions in both the ward and stake Sunday School and Relief Society organizations. She was a faithful Relief Society visiting teacher. Maude worked at the Ogden Family History Library for many years and served a mission at the Ogden Genealogical Library. She also worked on the Extraction Program. Maude researched genealogy on the Holmes line with researchers in England and on the Ibel line with a local researcher. Both lines are completed as far as there is available information. Maude loved flowers and enjoyed working in her beautiful yard. She was always willing to share starts of her favorite flowers. She loved books and was an avid reader. She is survived by a sister, Thekla (Jack) Harwood, Blackfoot, Idaho; a sister-in-law Dorothy Holmes, West Haven; and many nieces and nephews. Maude was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters. The family expresses appreciation to Peachtree Place Assisted Living and to Hospice for Utah for their kind and loving care. Condolences may be sent to the family at <www.myers-mortuary.com> Florance Faye Mee Lattin Florance Faye Mee Lattin, 91, died February 18, 2008 in Ogden, Utah. She was born July 19, 1916 in Pagosa Springs, Colorado the daughter of Harry George and Tennessee Riley Teason Mee. She spent a great deal of her childhood in the beautiful Blanco Basin, were she rode horseback to school and enjoyed her association with a George Edward Kilgore large extended family. She married Elmer George Edward Kilgore passed away Stewart Lattin May 29, 1935. Monday, February 18, 2008 at his home in Faye was an active member of the Huntsville after a courageous battle with congestive heart disease. He was born July 18, 1931 in Brawley, California, a son of Ernest and Myrtle Hargrove Kilgore. He married Betty Anderson on April 3, 1953 in Reno, Nevada. Surviving are his wife Betty; three sons and one daughter: David C. (Peret), Montanan; Daniel G. (Kay), Huntsville; Donald R. (Margie), Illinois; Donna (Larry) Gillis, Virginia; and 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother, Leonard (Margaret), Arizona; and one sister, Shirley Barret, California. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and five sisters. Funeral service were held Saturday, February 23 at the Larkin & Sons Mortuary. Internment, Utah Veterans Memorial Park. She loved giving service to others. She was Florance Lattin employed at Mountain Bell Telephone Company and retired after 30 years of service. She enjoyed painting, dancing, walking, and other outdoor activities with her family and others. She loved the farm and the animals, and spending time with her grandchildren there. Her focus in life was her family and the church. She is survived by children Geraldine “Gerry” Hansen (LaVar), Dixie Dee Rollins (Mike), Pathrea Ranae Womack (Chuck), Christine Boswell (Dennis) and Michael Stewart Lattin (Gwen); 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Elmer, two sisters, and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Friday, February 22, 2008 at Myers Mortuary of Ogden, 845 Washington Blvd. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Crestwood Care Center for the loving care given to Faye.
