Show wowwesv mest” TE OGDEN VALLEY NEWS March Voices of Praise Concert The Voices of Praise, a music ensemble from Frontier School of the Bible, will present a program of sacred music at Fellowship Bible Church in Liberty, on Sunday, April 1, at 11:00 a.m. The multi-voice choir, under the direction of Ken Stearns, consists of students from across the United States Frontier School of the Bible is a three-year Bible institute located in LaGrange, Wyoming, 55 miles northeast of Cheyenne. Its purpose is to train men and women for life and ministry. Author David James Duncan to Speak at Weber Pathways Fourth Annual Fundraiser Event On Friday, March 23, 2007, Weber Pathways will present Dinner with David James Duncan at its fourth annual Author Dinner fundraiser at the Timbermine Restaurant in Ogden, Utah. Duncan’s best known books include “The River Why,” “The Brothers K,” and “River Teeth.” He is the winner of many awards an honors, including a Lannan Fellowship, the 2001 Western States Book Award, and an Honorary Doctorate for Public Service from the University of Portland. A fly fisher and practitioner of what he calls “direct, smallscale compassion/activism,” Duncan is a passionate advocate for the environment and is perhaps most at home when immersed waistdeep i in one of his many favorite rivers casting flies to steelhead, salmon, and trout. All proceeds from the dinner will go to Weber Pathways, a non-profit organization. Pathways Chair Mary Hall stated, “We are so pleased to welcome Mr. Duncan to Ogden— home of two rivers, blue ribbon fisheries, and abundant opportunities for outdoor recreation. We invite Ogdenites to join us for a delightful evening of food, friends, and fish tales.” Current projects being coordinated by Weber Pathways include completing the Centennial Trail, a 27-mile loop following the Ogden and Weber rivers and connecting it with the Bonneville Shoreline Trail. In addition, work continues to develop the Bonneville Shoreline Trail north to Box Elder County and south to Davis County. In honor of the (eventual) return of spring, the Ogden Valley Branch Library will be welcoming lots of great feathered friends into the library. On April 9 at 7:00 pm., we will host a bird-themed Family Fun Night that will include live birds and lots of fun and interesting information about raising and caring for birds, and also about the growing sport of pigeon racin All Valley residents are invited to leave their nests and join us for a night that promises to be educational and fun! The evening will also include some of the best bird stories around, followed by some great games. Afterward, everyone will be invited to enjoy some delightsome springtime refreshments.
