Stallings 2] Virginia (Judy) Mae cEntire The family would like to thank the excellent caregivers at Crestwood Care Center where she has lived for the past six years following a stroke in May 2000. Her family would also like to thank the Crestwood Branch and the Eden Ist Ward. Applegate Hospice also provided a valuable service making the last year of her life much more omfortable. Her parents, William Rawson and Rosene Woodfield McEntire, lived in Huntsville, Utah. Virginia was the oldest of six children and grew up in Huntsville, graduated from Ogden High School in 1926, and from Weber College in 1928. That fall she began teaching in the Eden School with 28 students in the first, second, and third grades. She married James (Jim) R. Stallings of Eden, Utah, on January 1, 1931. She taught school for 2% years. Jim and Virginia lived in Eden, Utah, and raised four children. irginia was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day-Saints. For over 70 years she taught the young children in Sunday School and Primary in the Eden Ward. She also served in the presidency of the Eden Ward Relief Society after the death of her husband in 1979. She attended the temple regularly and served in the extraction program for a number of years. Virginia was a charter member of the Eden Chapter of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She was an active member, serving in many capacities. She enjoyed being a docent in the Daughters of the Pioneer Museum of Ogden. She is survived two sons, Mack (Rena) Stallings, Bie and Dan (Susan) Stallings, Twin Falls, Idaho; two daughters, Janet Jensen, Malad, Idaho and Mary Sue (Keith) Rasmussen, Ogden. Also surviving are two brothers, Jay (Carol) McEntire, Arizona and Don (LaRae) McEntire, West Point, Utah; 19 grandchildren; and 61 greatgrandchildren. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents and husband; two sisters, Laura M. Hawkes and Helen M. Slater; one brother, Ross McEntire; and a son-in-law, Royal Duane Jensen. Helen Joan Shupe Clarke Helen Joan Shupe Clarke, 66, died Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at McKayDee Hospital in Ogden from complications of an extended illness Joan Clarke he was born August 29, 1940 in Ogden, a daughter of Andrew Jackson Shupe and Dorothy Helen Torman Shupe. n November 22, 1957, Joan married Melvin Ray Clarke in Eden. She lived in et Huntsville, and in Eden for almost 50 yea Joan was an ches member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as a Primary Teacher, Counselor, a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts, Librarian, and in various other callings. She worked in food services for the Weber County School oe and served as President of the Utah F Service Association. She was ae unit manager for North Fork Environmental Center and Farr West Elementary School. Joan was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and President of the Piece of Mind Quilt Guild. She loved quilting, reading, and going to the mountains. She loved supporting her children and grandeaiidren in i their various activities and collected souvenir plates of famous race tome Surviving are her husband Melvin of Eden; one son and three daughters, Andrew Ray (Theresa) Clarke, Lyman, WY; Malinda 2 2006, at the Crestwood Care Center. (Paul) Lanier, Eden; Julia (E.J.) Harris, Kaysville; Kimber (Ron) Kendell, Eden; 17 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her mother, Helen D. Shupe, Ogden; five brothers, Jack (Betty) Shupe, Mountain Green; Paul (Debbie) Shupe, Grace, ID; Steve (Joni) Shupe, Huntsville; Bill (Lois) Shupe, Laketown, UT; Larry (Christine) Shupe, Huntsville; and sister-in-law, Marilyn Kay Clarke, Ogden. Preceding her inn'death were her father, an infant sister, sister Sandra Beck, and granddaughter Shannon Marie Harris. Funeral services were held Saturday, December 16 at the Eden 2nd Ward Chapel, 2900 N. Fielding, 94, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 14, 2006 of natural causes. She was born February 8, 1912 in Wapelo, Idaho, the fifth of 11 children to Enoch Martimies and Eliza Heward Madsen. Willena was educated in Goshen and Firth, Idaho completing the eight years of school that were required then. She married Earl W. Fielding on December 13, 1932 in Shelley, Idaho. Their vows were later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. They were married 69 years before his passing on June 11, 2002. Willena was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many church callings throughout her life. Her most rewarding was President of the Relief Society in the Ogden 6th Ward. She and Earl were temple workers and completed two missions. She was also a lifetime member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers Camp F. Her interests included family, friends, reading, Willena Fielding Clontz, Ogden; Clyde and Daleen Fielding, North Ogden; 23 grandchildren, 49 greatgrandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, James Madsen, Idaho Falls, ID; Heward Madsen, Firth, ID; and brother-in-law Alex Martin, Swan Valley, ID. She was preceded in death by her parents, seven sisters, and one brother. Our family would like to express our thanks to Washington Terrace Health Center, staff nursing, housekeeping, and maintenance. You were exceptional.
