He graduated from Ogden High in 1943 and worked for the Idaho Central Railroad from 1941 to 1943. He went on to serve his country in World War II as a Radio Man in the Navy Amphibs from November 26, 1943 to May 19, Anniversaries Mr. and Mrs. Jim Richards Jim and Maurine Richards will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on August | with an open house hosted by their children at the Weber State Lindquist Alumni Center, 1305 41st St., Ogden. She taught hundreds of students in the Davis and Weber School District and in Denton, Texas. She recently retired from Roy Elementary School. Both are active in the LDS Church. Their seven children and spouses are Jeannine and Zock Goeckeritz, Louise and Brett Moulding, David and Pam Richards, Mark and Darla Richards, Stephen and Lani Richards, Daniel a Sherri Richards, and Michael Richards. They have 22 grandchildren. Harold and Colleen Roylance After World War II, he worked for a short while at the Defense Depot in Ogden and at the U.S. Post Office. He attended Weber College on the GI Bill where he gradated in 1953. Arden came from a railroad family so in 1947 to 1956, he became a Locomotive Fireman for the Southern Pacific Railroad. In 1956 to 1986 when he retired, he was a Locomotive Engineer. He married Ellen Jane Hoagland of Ogden in 1949. She is now deceased. He remarried Lora M. Barnett in 1972. He is a member of the LDS Church. Interests he has enjoyed during his lifetime consist of fishing, saenpin hunting, and spending winters in Ari Arden has been a oa of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Fireman, the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, Eagles, and the American Legion. e served as Forest Service volunteer for the Ashley National Forest as an Archaeology crewman and supervisor. He also worked on the Historical Sweat Ranch as a handyman, and a supervisor for the volunteer work crews restoring the ranch from 1990 to 1996. His children and their spouses are Michael Broadbent of Arizona, deceased; Lynette and Rick Wagner of Ogden, Utah; Rod and Angela Broadbent of Castro Valley, California; Rae Ann and Craig James of Nordic Valley, Utah; Matthew Broadbent of Vernal, Utah; Alesia and Robert Allen of Evanston, Wyoming; and Lee Broadbent of Sacramento, California. are nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. The children and grandchildren of Harold and Colleen Roylance announce their 50th wedding anniversar They were married on July 8, 1955, in Huntsville. Their vows were solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple on December 2, 2000. He graduated from Weber High School, then enjoyed his time in the U.S. Navy. He retired from Hill Air Force Base. She graduated from Weber High School. She retired from Internal Revenue Service. She is active in the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. Their children are Loree Clark, Roy; Becky and Doug Wolfe, South Weber; Judy and Casey Allred, Plain md and Annette and Russell Murray, West Poi They have 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Family and friends joined them for a celebration in their honor. Please Valentine Leland Leolan Valentine of North Ogden celebrated his 85th birthday on July 15 with his family. Born July 15, 1920, in Akron, Ohio, he was the second of six children born to Euliller C. and Bertha M. Story Valentine. Always active and hard-working, he has outlived his five siblings and escaped with his life in two life-threatening events in 2004; once when a dump truck smashed into his home, and again when hit broadside in his car. He married Anna May Snook June 24, 1939, in Akron, Ohio. Their vows were solemnized in 1942 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They moved to Ogden in 1943, then to their dream home, which he built for her in Pleasant View in 1951. They lived there until last year when they moved to North Ogden after the dump truck accident. He served in World War II. In 1981, after 37 years of service, he retired from Southern Pacific Railroad. He is active in the Pleasant View LDS 9th Ward, having served in various callings.
