Show vweexrvext “THE OGDEN VALLEY NEWS Page 5 August 1, 2005 ; THWAY Open VaLtey CHAPTER Weber Pathways Presents Third Annual TGI Fiesta Weber Pathways presents its third annual TGI Fiesta on Friday, August 26, at the MTC Pavilion, 1800 Monroe Boulevard, on the Ogden River Parkway in Ogden. Join us for an evening of great Mexican food by The Union Grill and lively music by Mariachi Zavala, plus live and silent auctions of terrific outdoor items and experiences. The fun starts at 6:00 p.m. at the MTC Pavilion with appetizers from Mi Puebla’s taco wagon and refreshing margaritas. Dinner will be served at 7:00 p.m. followed by a live auction around 8:00. Throughout the evening you can browse and bid on the unique items in our silent auction, including a bike from The Bike Shoppe, a guided float on the Weber River with catered picnic, a fly fishing trip and lunch hosted by a local fishing guide, Descente ski parka that includes day passes to 34 different North American ski areas, beautiful original paintings from several local artists, and much, much more! All proceeds from the dinner will go toward Weber Pathways, a non-profit organization with a mission to promote, plan, and preserve a network of non-motorized public pathways and related open spaces in Weber County, Utah. “Weber County encompasses some of the most beautiful scenery in the West. By creating a matrix of trails, we hope to revitalize people in landscape by providing them this profoundly necessary opportunity to engage with each other as well as with the natural environment,” said Sally Neill, Chair of Weber Pathways Current projects being coordinated by Weber Pathways include completing the a age Trail, a 27- mile loop following the n and Weber rivers and connecting with the Bonneville Shoreline Trail. Current Centennial Trail efforts are focused on raising funds to build the Stockyards Bridge to link up the West Haven trail system with completed sections to the south. In addition, work continues to develop the Bonneville Shoreline Trail north to Box Elder County and south to Davis County. In Ogden Valley, the Eden Trail will soon be paved allowing safe pedestrian travel, and work continues towards creating a trail completely around Pineview Reservoir. The Eden Sundevils Jr. Posse is made up of some of Ogden Valley’s finest students! Posse members range in age from 7 to 16 years old. Leader Debi McEntire would like to introduce you to her posse team one member at a time! Madeline Jenkins is the eleven year old daughter of Dave and Ruth Jenkins and she has been a member of the Sundevils for three years. Her posse skills just keep getting better and better! Maddie rides a sorrel horse named Lightning and it does not matter what event she competes in, she accomplishes it a incredible grace and determination! Maddie has been riding horses since she was three or four years old with the help of her father Dave who is an accomplished horse trainer. Maddie is currently the first runner up to the Eden Jr. Posse 2nd Princess. When Maddie was asked what her favorite thing about posse was, she stated “Everything! The leaders, parents, horses, events, and members, they all are having a great time and I am glad that I am having a good time with them!” She also stated that it is exciting to meet the new people that join posse so that she can make new friends! Maddie says that this is the best sport she has ever been involved in! Madeline Jenkins truly one of a kind and a beautiful young lady. This team, consisting mostly of young ladies from the North Ogden/Ogden Valley areas, went 6-1 during the 3-day event.
