Show Volume XII THE Issue X OGDEN VALLEY NEWS Page 5 June 15, 2005 Honoring Huntsville’s Heroes Huntsville and the surrounding area has the grand distinction of having more military servicemen and women per capita serve during World War II than any other town or city in the country. For that very reason, Huntsville is honoring those valiant patriots during its upcoming 4th of July celebration. What we enjoy today is in a great measure attributed to them and all veterans of the armed forces of our country. The town of Huntsville extends a hearty and cordial welcome to all to celebrate with us Independence Day at the Park. As usual, it promises to be a jammed-packed day of fun, patriotic tribute and good old hometown enjoyment. Grand Marshals for the parade will be veterans ‘from World War II that still live in the Huntsville area. These same individuals will also be honored with a special tribute at the patriotic program scheduled for 11:00 a.m. in the Huntsville Ward Trappers Village Announces 2nd Annual Art Fest cultural hall. This will be an inspiring presentation designed to help us all appreciate more fully the sacrifices of those who have served in the military. If you know of any such veterans, please contact Chris Stevenson at 745-2345 to make sure they are included in our activities. This year, Dr. Frank Gulliuzza, Chairman of the Department of Political Science and Philosophy at Weber State University, will be the keynote speaker at the patriotic program. Dr. Gulliuzza has a long list 0 honors and awards for distinguished service in the education community. Additionally, he has been very active in politics and was a candidate for the U.S. Senate here in Utah. However, his most qualifying accolade is his passion for the constitution of this county and the freedom it provides all Americans.
