Valley News On Saturday, August 21, heavy equipment workers from Marriott Construction Company hit and broke a 6 inch waterline belonging to the Eden Water Company, sending thousands of gallons of culinary water rushing down Wolf Creek Drive. At about 8:30 a.m., a backhoe operator working for Wolf Creek hit the main line while working on_ installing another waterline designed to bring water for fire protection from Wolf Creek’s water system to RV storage units being built in Eden at the corner of Wolf Creek Drive and Willowbrook Lane. The winner for the first annual Valley Idol contest in conjunction with the 2004 Ogden Valley Balloon Festival was recently announced. On August 12, the three finalists took to the outdoor stage at Wolf Creek on a beautiful summer evening. The finalists were Michelle Erickson (13) from Huntsville, and Weber High students Jessica Creamer (16) from Liberty and Whitney Green (16) from Eden. After considerable discussion amongst the judges, the award went to Jessica Creamer who won a full year family membership to the Wolf Creek Recreation Center. Each finalist sang “God Bless America” and a song of their choice. According to judge Susan Hoxer, “It was a tough decision; each of these young ladies are very talented and we really wished we could have chosen all three! Ultimately, our decision was based on how readily we thought the Idol could rouse the crowd during the opening ceremony of the Balloon Festival.
