Show November 17, 2000 We thank Abbie Balearic and the Serenity staff and w e thank the folks who provided transportation.' They were Frank Toole, Shirley Phelps. Keith Shaw (who drove Helen Judd's vehicle) and Kathy WiUc (who drove George Perkins vehicle). Abbie has invited us to use the facilities and already there are plans afoot for the band to play for a dance on those nice hardwood floors which is something we lack in our center. If that happens, you can bet your life you will see some real North Summit Senior Citizens By LOUISE WALLACE The election is over, at ieast the voting is. but oh, what a mess. We are fortunate, indeed that we have more unity in our area. I for one,' am glad to be living where I do even if we do have winter weather the better part of the year. We had a fun week and whats more we all survived the additional activities. Pres. Shirley Phelps conducted but her husband, George didn't feel up to coming out. To bad, too because I know he would have enjoyed himself. Woodrow had the fire going which added warmth to these old bones as well as the building and we thank him for that. Friday was the busiest day of all and the most interesting too. I hadn't realized how many good looking youngsters we have in our community until about 70 first grade students and their teachers, Joyce Housley, Annette Vernon. Colleen Vernon and Carrie Willoughby came and put on a short program honoring the veterans. Grandpa, Lyle Willoughby was proud as punch as he watched his grandson and received lots of poppies from these well behaved young people. We enjoyed the visit from Carolyn Ovard and Faye Boyer and the thick slices of fresh bread, spread with butter and jelly or jam. Their demonstration was on how to make a loaf of bread in a bag. I bet even I can master that without to much difficulty. The only thing is. I like bread fresh from the oven and may have to eat the whole thing right away. Oh well, it's supposed to he healthy for us. We had a great time Friday afternoon with 18 of us going to the Serenity Ranch in Oakley by invitation. After touring the building, we decided that might not be a bad place to live if we had to be some where besides our own homes. We had some bingo games with Erma Bellizzi, Mena Richins, Loraine Rock and Beity Wilde the lucky winners from our dub. After partaking of an attractive snack buffet. we were entertained in the nice recreation center by Cheryl Ovard and eleven of her young clogging students and we thank them.
