Lambert, attorney for Debbie Yorcn As long as the Eureka Reporter is willing to report any information provided, I think we have an obligation to speak out. Our family moved back to the desert in 1973. Our one big concern before moving back was our children's education. School in the desert taught up until the eighth grade. The students then had to board with someone in the city to finish their high school grades. My husband had to go ofl for his ninth, tenth, eleventh, and twelfth grades and he hated it. When we moved back, we were committed to do all we could so our children would not have to go away to finish high school. Before our children were old enough for high school, the parents, superintendent, and school personnel worked together to establish a K-school. We 12 weren't able to provide everything in our school that is offered in city schools. Howev er, the things we did hav e made up for what we didn't have and the students received a good education. My involvement in the school began more then twenty years ago, at first as a volunteer and then as an employee of the district. We have spent a lot of hours and effort building our school and community reputation. Over the years, and even now with all of this negative publicity, people who come to our school have a lot of good things to say. Those who come in the school talk to the staff, talk to the students, and get to know us leave the same comments. You have a good school here. Your students are so well behaved. They' are so fun to talk to. We visit a lot of schools and we arc never treated there like we have been treated here." many families, teachers, and staff come and go. We have made plenty of mistakes and do not alway s get along and agree with each other. We do try to pull together and work these out without misunderstandings the need for attorney s and court 'v3 .K Ball schedule Thanks to everyone who has been supporting the Eureka Baseball Program. Next Weeks Games; Coach Pitch: cases. Mr. Lambert talks about the government's creation of legal technicalities. A gov ernment that doesn't care about how it treats its public servants and citizens. Arc government agencies the only ones required to be concerned over how they treats public servants and citizens? What about the right of a public serv ant and citizen to have a private life? I'm still try ing to figure out how a copy of Mr. Alder's father's personal history ended up in the court room in Mr. Lambert's hands. Mr. Alder and I share an office with the EDNET system. This doesn't give us a lot of room. Our desks are situated so if we both decide to roll out the chairs at the same time, vve collide. Even with these close quarters. I never ev en knew Mr. Alder had his father's history in his desk drawer all of these years. Mr. Lambert talks of a government that doesn't care how it spends tax dollars. We recently experienced a big waste of tax dollars. It boggles my mind that a person can cause so much contention that teachers can't teach and students can't learn and the person causing the contention can't be fired. So the district is forced to keep this person employed and pay them a monthly July 6. 2001 - The Eureka Reporter - Page Three New law affects young drivers As of Sunday, July 1, the Passenger Limitation law for young drivers went into effect in Utah. The law prevents new drivers, under age 18, from transporting any passenger who is not an immediate family member for the first six months of their licensure or until they turn eigh- teen. There are conditions that effect the law: It's an emergency situation. An adult age 21 or older is sitting in the front seat next to them. They are working on a farm or ranch.
