The Tintic Mining Museum was one of 42 museums from around the state to participate in the first Museum Day at the State Capitol Rotunda. They day was part of the Museums Yes! program to impress on the minds of the legislators the importance and needs of museums of Utah. President Clco Judge began w ith the pledge of alliance to our flag and reading of the preamble. Chaplin Alice Fox read an appropriate scripture and offered the prayer. A moment of silence w'as observed in memory of our dead veterans. The minutes were read and approved. Clco reported that the gifts to the Veteran's Hospital Senator Blackham, June McNulty, and Sam Bass at Museum Day Gift Shop was enlarged by many gifts at the Utah State Capitol. Planning commision sets agenda The Eureka Planning Commission will hold its regular meeting on Wednesday, February 71'1 at the Eureka City Offices on 15 North Church Street, Eureka. The meeting will promptly begin at 7 p.m. The meeting will included a roll call, approval of minutes, petitions and communication, report of officers, and unfinished business. The new business will included a application from Blaine Miles for a business license for Miles Mechanical Sen ice and Repair. Seniors In the absence of President Margaret Fennel. Vice President, Dorothy Allinson presided at the Young at Heart Meeting on January 17th. Ron Cones asked the blessing on the food, and all enjoyed a scrumptious chicken dinner, prepared by Afton Bern1 and Tarsula Lucas. After pledging allegiance to the flag, and singing of God Bless America, accompanied by Mabel Butler, the minutes were read by Betty Cones, and financial report was given by Leah Towers. She reported 28 paid members. Afton Berry read a child's school report on his visit to his grandparents at the retardment'1 community. So funny! Betty Cones did chalk board puzzles that stretched the imagination. It was a great experience seeing and interacting with so many different museums, and quite an honor to be included in the 42 institutions chosen to display out of the 192 museums in the slate.
