Show March 24, 1989 The Eureka Reporter Church news Page Five Utah Power Announces CATHOLIC: Mass in celebration of Passion (Palm) Sunday was held at St. Pat- ricks Church with Father Walter as celebrant. Following the blessing and distribution of palms, scriptures were read from the book of the prophet Isaiah, the letter of Paul to the Philippians, and the gospel reading of the Passion of the Lord, according to St. Luke. Participating in the reading of the Passion were Father Walter as Jesus, Martin Fennell as the narrator, Joe Bernini as the voice, and the congregation as the crowd. Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week, which culminates next Sunday with Easter Sunday Mass commemorating the Lords Resurrection. Services during the week will be at 7 p.m. at St. John Bosco Church in Delta. Easter Mass at St. Patricks will begin at 4 p.m. on Sunday. METHODIST: The Eureka and Tooele congregations joined for a special Palm Sunday worship under the direction of Rev. Linda Barnes. Opening hymn was All Glory, Laud, and Honor. A dramatic presentation of the PalmPassion story was given in the gospel of Matthew, was enacted by Rev. Linda and the congregation. The Holy Week schedule was announced, the Easter Service will be at 3 p.m. next Sunday at the Eureka Church. After the service in Tooele, a potluck dinner and a celebration of the Seder service, were enjoyed. Attending from Eureka were: Sandy Evans and sons, Greg and Allen; Curtis and Mabel Butler; and Virginia Badertscher.
