Show The Eureka Reporter March 17, 1989 Ie Kristin Carpenter celebrated her first birthday on Feb. 7, 1989 in Kingston, Nevada with her parents, Brad and Diane Carpenter, brothers Kcand Dustin, and sister Breann. There to help celebrate where Shaunna, Gary and Ashley Bradbury; Melanie and Stephanie Evans; Aria, Curtis and Stephanie Irestw ich; and Sara Bond, all from Kingston. Kristin is the granddaughter of Myron and Paulette Carpenter and K.C and Judy Smith; and of Ada Schmidt, all of Eureka. great-granddaught- er Churches news Worship Service for the Fifth Sunday of Lent, at the United Methodist Church, was conducted for Rev. Linda Barnes. Opening hymn was, Savior, Thy Dying Love. Scripture readings were from Isaiah 43 of the Old Testament, and Philippians 3 of the New Testament. The gospel reading was from John 12. The minister delivered her sermon under the title, Extravagant Love. Following a series of prayers, the hymn, Take The Name of Jesus With You, was sung. The service closed with benediction. Combined with four previous reductions, UP&L rates have decreased by 8 percent since January 1988 for a total of $53 million. This rate reduction fulfills our promise to reduce rates by 2 percent upon completion of our merger with PadfiCorp. A further decrease of 3 to 8 percent will be forthcoming within the next four years, reflecting the effidendes the merger will provide. |
