Eureka is where he attended school. After completing the ninth grade he quit attending scliool and began helping his mother with the dairy cows. He has fond memories of milking early in the morning then delivering milk by horse and buggy to their customers. Leo was married to Amelia Francis Osborn on June 18, 1938. Leo believed in an honest djys work and taught his posterity that "busy hands are happy hands." He worked with wood creating beautiful gun cabinets and baby cradles that are still treasured by each of us. He was a "handy man" around quite a few homes of family and neighbors. He worked in the Eureka mines, which didn't take him long to buy him a dump truck and haul ore. He ended up retiring from the Open Hearth at Geneva Steel after working 29 SEEK bonuses.
