GEORGE — When Rock Ballstaedt started running, he hadn't even heard’ of the St. George Marathon. Of course, the marathon was only 2 years old when Ballstaedt, a Lehi resident, took up running in the spring of 1979. On Friday, Ballstaedt will be among just a handful of people who will run their 30th consecutive St. George Marathon.
