Show eee DEVOLUTION OF A HORSE PASTURE Another Eden Lost on 400 East G Mill Creek Drive For years, watching the horses in the meadow across from Dave's Corner Market was a favorite pastime for many Moabites. In 199] the owner of the property. long time resident Venice Denny, made an offer to the City of Moab that he thought they couldn't refuse. Venice needed to sell the Jand but cringed at the thought of seeing it developed. So he proposed selling it to the City of Moab as a park; after all, it was adjacent to Mill Creek and the Parkway. It made perfect sense. Everybody won. Despite an asking price that was more than reasonable even then, the City Council would not consider it. There was not even enough interest for any of the council persons to make a motion. Eventually Denny sold the land to a speculator, who more” than doubled his money in three years. Today we have the "Mill Creek Pueblos.” THEN & NOW... (Above) Standing in the same location, three years apart makes all the difference.
