Joseph loved the outdoors and enjoyed working in his garden, hiking, He liked camping, and to read, write and memorize poetry, anu to paint and draw. He was skilled at home improvement projects and could fix anything. He loved music. He supported and enjoyed the musical endeavors of his family, and he loved to play recorders with them. His kindness and patience touched manv live. He was a devoted husband and a loving father, and acaring teacher. As Bishop of Vernal Third Ward he influenced many lives for good. His family, friends, colleagues, students and ward members will miss him dearly, but will always remember his example of goodness and integrity. We are all better people for having known him. He is survived by his wife, Linda, of Vernal, sons: Daniel (Andrea Dewey), Ann Arbor, Michigan, Timothy, Provo, UT, and Andrew, nfVer-na- l; daughters: Melinda, Cambridge, Massachusetts, Jody.scrvingnn LDS mimioninPoland,and Leslie, ofProvo. Friends may call on Tuesday evening from PM at the SpafTord Funeral Home, 224 East 600 South, and on Wednesday prior to the serviccsat the Church AM. Interment will be from in the Salt Lake City Cemetery with grave side services at 3:00 PM under the direction of the SpafTord Funeral Home. Roberts Isabell Pearl Roller Roberts, age 82, of Phoenix, Arizona, formerly of Roosevelt, died January 19, 2001 in a Phoenix hospital. She was bom December 19, 1918 in Meeker, Colorado to Charles HowardandFrancesIrmaTempleton Roller. She married Ernest Weston Roberts January 11, 1947 in Roosevelt; he died July 6, 1988. Isabell graduated from Palmer College ofChiropractic in Davenport Iowa and practiced in Roosevelt. She had a love of the Catholic Church and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. She was a Girl Scout leader for about 10 years in Kearns and Roosevelt She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and supported veteran's programs. She assisted with the UBIC fine arts exhibits for a number of years, and had a love for birds. Isabel! had a good sense of humor and loved to tell a joke to make people smile. She is survived by three cliildnn, Carol Ann (Mel) Dalton, Farmington, NM; Margaret Jo Jones, Myrtle Creek, Oregon, and Paul (Rosa) Roberts, Phoenix, AZ; 16 grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren; four sisters Faye Yack, Roosevelt; Doris Wogec, Citrus Heights,' CA; Merle Carrigan, Rockport, IL; and Jean Brian, Santa Clara, CA. She was preceded in death by a at the Hullinger Mortuary Thursday at 6:30 p.m. and visitation from 8 p.m. following the Rosary. During 1962-6- 5 he served as an LDS missionary in the Vienna, Austria Mission. Joseph married Linda Lee Thurman in the SaltLakeTempleon May 29, 1968. During the Vietnam conflict he served in the Army and was stationed in Wurzburg, Germany with Military Intelligence. He re E. He was the second son of Harry Irvin and Margaret Lancaster Davis. Chuck was born on a ranch south of Van Tassell, Wyoming on September 8, 1932. He grew up and attended school in southwestern South Dakota. He married Betty Swinnay and later divorced. He married Leona Hagman on July 25, I960. His life revolved around work and family. His earlyyear were spent on a ranch and farm end he loved the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and eryoyed sports, especially (odeo. He roped steers for quite a few years and liked bull riding. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1949 and retired on June 1 1971. Much of his flying service occurred during the Vietnam War. He never lost his love of flyingand planes. After hia retirement he owned and drove truck, and was , what he liked best, a farmer and cowboy. He came to the Uintah Basin in 1977 and later married and settled here. He worked for Plateu Oil, B.I A and UDOT. He retired from UDOT in 1994. He was a hard working, decent, generous man and a credit to his family and commu nity . Anyone who every met him will not forget his infectious smile. He will be missed verymuch. He is survived by his wife, Leona , three sons, Robert (Kathy), OR, Gene, CA, Brian (Shannon) OR.
