There were over 70 entries submitted from the local PTA's throughout Duchesne County and only 20 lucky entries will go to the Regional level. Japanese teaching intern to work at East Elementary East Elementary School is pleased and excited to announce that they have recently been selected by international internship programs of Washington, D.C. and Tokyo, Japan, to serve as a host school for their program. According to Paul Chambers, Principal, international internship programs have three month, six month and nine months options for their interns. East Elementary School will have the intern for a three month period. Yasuko Fqjii of Nagoya, Japan, will arrive the first week of April to begin teaching in the various grades of our school. Fiyii will bring cultural lessons and demonstrations about Japanese culture to our students and assist teachers and students with projects and programs. This program will be mutually rewarding for the intern as well. While serving as an assistant teacher, Miss Fqjii will have a chance to observe and learn about our countrys education system and our lifestyles, She will also be able to improve her ability to use the english language. Fiijii is currently teaching english in a primary school in Nagoya, Japan and is excited to be part of this program and have the opportunity to live in Roosevelt. She will be hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Hall while in Roosevelt. Fqjii will also have the opportunity to help with the summer school program at East Elementary and will have the opportunity to visit other schools in the area while here. Students and staff are looking forward to her arrival and getting acquainted with Miss Fqjii, said Chambers. As Low As tome.
