July 26. 1994- - Page 17 Daniel Van Tassell left Wednesmission in day to serve a two-year JoDeene Hansen, Spanish Fork, with her aon, Joshua, and Sanna Lae Hennefer, Texas, and daughter-in-law, Leslie Edrington, with her children: Heather, Chris, Amber, Colby' and Shy Anne, Tucson, are spending four to five days with Kay and Jo Edrington, their parents. The Haslem reunion waa held last weekend at Duncan Park, with 104 family members present relativee came from California, Logan, Manti and Dugway, joining local family members, and spent three days at the reunion. The family had pot luck meals, did genealogy and visited. They also had a band Friday night and did some Western darning. They also drew for two quilts. Gene and Darlene Carter's family, Pleasant Grove, won the quilts. Tony and Peggy IFAndrea said visit from they enjoyed a three-wee-k their daughter, Linda, and Marc Schweiier, Sunnyvale, with their two children, Karen and Brian. Ed Behring. Tony, Ed, Mare and Brian went golfing about every other day and found three days in which they went fishing at Red Fleet, Flaming Gorge and Sand Wash. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley and Lynette Peck and family, Logan, visited Bella Lafever one day this week. Mr. and Mrs. Lorin Allred and son, Jerry, spent a few days in their home in Hanna. Leo Turabow is in the Duchesne County Hospital receiving treatment Lynn Tumbow and Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Turabow and Marva Anderson, Salt Lake, have been visiting Leo and Florence. . Celebrating a birthday July 17 waaZelma Lloyd. She waa honored at a dinner at the park with her son, Gam, and hia wife, Jeanelle, Doyle Last week, Dr. Ernest Burgess and wife, Ruth, Mercer Island, Washington, stopped at Roosevelt to see cousin Pearl Labrum. The Burgesses have not been to Roosevelt for approximately 50 years. While here, they went to see Victory Park, Fort Duchesne and the homes of their parents and grandparents in this area. The Burgesses, Pearl Labrum and granddaughter, Lisa Labrum, daughter of Lynn and Nancy Labrum, all attended the Isaac Miles family reunion at Sherwood Hills near Logan. Nearly 60 cousins and other relatives attended this reunion. On Friday, Juy 15, the Saturday Bridge Club met at the Paul Stringiams cabin near Flaming Gorge. Members and one guest, Jean Ponton, met to celebrate the July birthday of Teresa Harmston. Afewhandsofbridgewsreplayed before being served a dinner and birthday pie. After dinner, more bridge was played, lots of visiting and enjoying the mountain scenery and the antics of many different birds and squirrels eating on the cabin porch took place. Visitors at the Zelma Lloyd home recently were Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Prescott, Salt Lake. Mrs. Donna Prescott is a relative of Mrs. Lloyd. The Prescott also visited with the Dean Lloyd family while here. Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Prescott are the parents of Lloyd Prescott, the police officer who was involved with the. hostage situation at the On Wednesday, July 13, Betty Ruth Campbell, Rochester, Minnesota, arrived in Roosevelt where her cousin, Betty Lee Evans, picked her up at the bus station and took her home with her' to stay two nights. Then Betty Lee brought her to Neola to Don and Venice Mechams place where she stayed Friday night. Don, Venice and Betty Ruth went Saturday to Strawberry Lake for a Nielson reunion. Betty Evans had to go to the airport in Salt Lake to pick up their grandson who came home from an LDS mission overseas. There were 50 people at the reunion. They reported hsv-- 1 ing a lot of good visiting; did genealogy and had a business meeting and luncheon. There were people from Vernal, Neola, Roosevelt, Brigham City, Orem and Minnesota present. Betty Ruth stayed with Don and Venice Saturday and Sunday, then on Monday, July 18, Venice took her back toRoosevelt to Betty Evanss home where they and Norma Hansen, Altamont, went to Midway to meet a friend, Bonnie Taylor. Betty Ruth is going to spend five days with her then come back tp Betty Evanss home to spend the rest ofher stay. Betty Ruth came for her class reunion, the Nielson family reunion and UBIC. Kathy Ball and four children and her aister, Janene Taylor and three boys, Mesa, Arizona, are spending :: three weeks with their parents, Gene and Lorna Daniels. Rose Olsens nephew and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Wallis, and five Children, Midland, Texas, arrived ' at the home of Richard and Rose Olsen Sunday, July 10, and then left ' Tuesday, July 12, for ebusiness trip to Canada. Traveling on the Wilkins bus to the Provo Temple Friday, July 15, ' were 28 passengers from Roosevelt and Neola. Each did two sessions. Those from Neola were: Dean Crosier, Laura Dye, Evadean Woodard, Melpha Whiting; Elaine Lee, Barbara Pratt, Zola Spencer, Gerald and Coralaa Henris, Irene Henris, Lyn and Colene Gardner and Grant .'and Eudeana Pickup. 30-da- ys ' -- - and hia wife, Carol, daughter Dolorea and her huaband, Jim Zobell, and Curtis Muir who at- tended and reportedly enjoyed the feativitiee. Mrs. Lloyd received a new carpet for her front porch for the occasion. Leona Loxenby, Magna, was bur- ied in Tabiona Monday. She is the twin sister of Lionel Webb and wife of Burt Loxenby. They lived in Tabiona for several years. the women go? They went to Salt Lake, stayed three days there and w. - reportedly had aball shopping. The family also went to the Neola and Vernal rodeos. WandaBastian and VaLois Morrill held a shower at the Whiterocks church for Rae Ann Moosman. The 20 ladies present tied a quilt for Rae Ann and finished the day with a light lunch. Australia. Chelise Van Tassell went to Salt Lake and has a job in Provo. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Curry, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Hicken, Mr. and Mrs. June Roberts and Mr. and Mrs.1 Lloyd Roberts reportedly etjoyed a barbecue at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Paterson Friday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Lawence Rae Max-- . well went to Cedar City for a week to attend the Shakespearian Festival. Angie Lewis was taken to the Heber Hospital Monday where die is receiving treatment. Those from Hanna and Tabiona who attended the Butch Cassidy outlaw play inVernal Monday night were: Mr. and Mrs. Joe Curry, Mr. and Mrs. John Paterson, Mr. and Mrs. LloydRoberts,Elthora Casper, Bella Lafever, Chink Chearelli and Ralph Giles.
