Hispanic heritage week needs help National Heritage Week will be celebrated at Dugway Proving Ground during the week of 7 September. A number of programs and activities are being planned with the purpose of involving every segment of the military and civilian community. Essay contests; poster COftteStSpcbtiking classes,1 Hispanic entertainment, commissary displays, and Hispanic dinners are just a few of the ideas being worked on by a committee headed by Sfc Donald Wright of the Equal Opportunity Office. One major activity scheduled for the week will be displays of arts and crafts from various Central and South American and Caribbean countries. The committee is asking that anyone who has visited any Hispanic country, whether as a tourist, on military assignment, or on a church mission, to display any handicrafts, such, as dolls, jewelry, wall hangings, Christmas ornaments, toys, and clothing at several functions scheduled throughout the observance week. Materials are needed by August 29 and persons lending items are asked to mark them with their name and telephone number, and a brief history of the item. n Hispanic-America- 11-1- , CONUS cigarette prices to rise Major tobacco companies have announced price increases for cigarettes sold in Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) outlets effective August 7. d The increase will only apply to cigarettes in the 50 United States. d king and regular size cigarettes will increase from $6.70 to $7.10 a carton and the price of 100 and 120mm cigarettes will be raised from $6.90 to $7.30. Individual packs in all lengths will remain at 80 cents. The prices of the Class A Generic cigarettes will not be raised. The king-siz- e generic cigarettes will continue to sell for $5.20 a carton and 100mm generics will be $5.40.
