Show March 9 199S Page 7 Three victories and a funeral by Mary Ann Southards sports editor Rcbccca Elison a CEU freshman scored the most points with 22 including four Lindsay Allen chipped in 10 while On Fch 24 (he Lady Eagles would turn (heir winter bias into a three game winning streak The ladies beat Treasure Valley Community College and College of Sol hern Idaho advanced to the region playoffs as sixth seed The ladies would take on Salt Lake Community College and walk away with a win in overtime March 3 they would lose once again to Utah Valley State College CEU 80 TVCC 36 The Lady Eagles would go into this game and come out on top with a 6 win a difference one of the biggest wins the ladies have had all year They went into the game strong getting the lip and scoring the first point of the game The team's offense was strong the first half of the game They controlled the ball well on both ends of the court They slacked off some as they came into the second half missing rebounds on offense that gave TVCC a chance to score No matter how many mistakes the Lady Eagles made or how many points they missal TVCC didn't seem to be able to take advantage of those errors During the first half of play the ladies shooting percentage from the field was 48 while TVCC’s was a meager 18 percent Some may ask what the shooting percentage could possibly have to do with the gamelook at the shooting percentages and then look who has the best outcome in this game The ladies just kept hitting the baskets and making points TVCC just wasn't having a good night coming into the second half they where down by a 23 point difference The ladies would take the ball and just run away with the game leaving TVCC standing in their dust The ladies walked a with the win 80 36 CEU 61 -
