Show Thursday February 25 1993 Writing is our specialty The lab has 11 computers all of by Jennifer Dunenn stiff writer "Providing assistance to stu- dent's writing receiving feedback on written assignments getting help organizing editing and finding topics for papers are some of the purposes behind the creation of CEU's writing lab "CEU’s writing lab is a fairly new addition to CEU having been operating the past four years It is open from 9 am- - 4 pm on Mondays and Fridays and looted in the main building room 210 Lab assistants include Jackie Warner who works from 9 am-- l pjn and Kent Templeton from 1 pm Templeton estabpm4 lished the center and is its director The purpose of the lab according to Templeton is "to not proofread your paper they will give advice and suggestions on how to make your paper better and more which are available to students free of charge The computers have a tutorial program for students who may need some review on sup- plementary English skills The lab is open for drop-i-n tutoring anytime but Templeton asks that during finals students make an appointment to avoid last minute conflicts He also suggests that students not wait until the last minute to bring in their papers If you would like to make an appointment call cxl 631 and talk to Templeton or Warner Templeton has had a lot of experience in the field of English He has been at CEU four years and teaches developmental language arts classes Before coming to CEU he taught English at Pima Community College and at the University of Arizona where he earned his master’s degree in English Kant Tamplaton on thalr papers writing lab dlractor aids CEU studants who ars In naad of advics (photo by Justin Johnson) AIDS: Condom or Casket?
