businesses want people who will be staying for the entire summer Most of the jobs require an applicant to have an updated resume Painter said that she will help students write one if they will bring her information about their education work experience and a list of skills and abilities acquired through home and volunteer work Painter is offering a job seeking skills workshop It will be held every week through the end of the quarter and will give information on writing resumes finding job leads interviewing skills and dressing for success Several job listings are available for out of town work also Painter said that applications are available for jobs at Lake Powell where over 500 people a summer are hired Yellow Stone National Park has openings in service jobs mid jobs dealing with boot and horse activities Over 2000 people are hired for summer work so far all applicants from CEU have been hired she added Some of the opportunities for working there include outdoor fun such as fishing hiking and being in the wilderness The Forest Service is also taking applications through the Price Job Service Office for fire fighters forestry aids and some office work Women and minorities are given priority in these jobs Other national parks in Utah are hiring extra summer help Most of them offer housing with the rent deducted from their pay checks Employees must buy their food and supplies but usually cost breaks are offered Painter said that CEU students have a better chance for some of these summer jobs because classes for fall quarter don't start until late in September The parks and Lake Powell give preference in hiring to people who either can come early in the spring or stay until after Labor Day Painter said it is important to put cm your application when you can start work and how long you can work Painter warns students to be wary about the cruise ship and government jobs offered in local papers She explained that when a person answers these ads they arc offered a book to buy In the book it tells how to prepare a resume and fill out an application and gives lists of addresses to contact for jobs Most of the information is available free of charge and
