you probably feel it was the best dollar you’ve spent Needless to say the Three D’s and the lovely Terry Sisters presented one of the finest shows this writer has seen From pop to folk to their unique sound filled the Geary theatre for those few hours with an escape to a land filled with beauty warmth and humor Of the many comments heard after the show the simple— “Gee they were good!” perhaps described them best They sang of freedom of unselfishness of tolerance and of love Somewhere in between the bits of poetry and wisdom set to song they interjected their own special brand of humor-l-ike the song about the terrible evil Jabberwocky (strictly from Transylvania) Toward the close of their performance they received a well deserved standing ovation from a very appreciative Fostma began the concert One of the outstanding songs was "Praise the Lord” with Sounding Cymbals The choir was accompanied by an ensemble from the band Linnore Potter played the piano The band was followed by the choir under the direction of Mr Dcrral Siggard The band began with a march titled “His Honor” This band was converted Into a marching band for homecoming week and led the 1968 CEU Homecoming Parade We have all been looking forward to the time CEU would lead the parade with their own band Mr Fificld and Mr Siggard are responsible once again for bringing ’Band’ back to Carbon Club this year has really been active AWS news Last Tuesday the Associated Women Students and Associated Men Students presented a combined fashion show It was never done before but there was always a first time All of the stores in Price presented fashions from their stores to make this an enjoyable evening The stores that participated were An go’s Bclva’s Harris Style Shop Penncys Boyacks Price Trading Mode O’Day and Kid’s Shoe Store Those who attended had an enjoyable time and those who didn’t attend really missed out It should have been entitled "Laughs Through Fashions” instead of "Winter Fashion President— Shannon Bry-tiVice President— Stcva Stevens Secretary— Lynda Brasher Reporter— Trudy Hancock Activity Chairmen— Edith Brown and Mary Abe and Sponsor— Mary Pizza have been planning many activities such as Home Economic conventions in which the members may participate To help raise money er for these activities they are going to hold a drawing for a turkey Tickets will be sold until Friday November 22 The cost of a ticket will be 25c and you can get tickets from any of the officers and members of the club Two turkeys will be given away that weigh approximately 2 pounds club Rodeo club made plans for a Christmas party at their meeting mi November 19 I9G8 Details are being checked to go ice skating at Consumers Ernie Manson was put in charge of obtaining a tree for the annual Christmas tree decorating contest Some of the members are planning to join the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Arsnciation In the spring they will attend various college sponsored rodeos to gain points for their school The school with the highest number of points receives a trophy Any girl getting queen at a college rodeo that has membership is eligible to compete for the national rodeo
