students or high school seniors desiring to take the Selective Service College Qualification Test Colonel Evan P Clay State Director of Selective Service for Utah has announced Colonel Clay stated that the would College Qualifications Test at eight instibe administered tutions of higher learning in the state of Utah on (May 14 May 21 and June 3 1988 College of Eastern Utah has been selected as one of the eight administration centers according to Gary Carver Dean of Students A student registrant desiring to take the College Qualification Test may get an application and bulletin of information at any Selective Service local board Colonel Clay stated that the purpose of the test is to provide additional evidence for the use of local boards in considering the deferment of a registrant from military I crvice as a student All Selective Service registrants who are pres-nt'- v enrolled in a cn’legc or university or w'o are high school graduates or high sc! ool seniors intending to go to college are encouraged to make application and ike the Selective Service College Qualifications Test A student who is presently either as a student or in other deferred class should quarters with a 200 grade average could file a petition for the offices of President Vice President of Student Activities Vice President of Student Relations Secretary President of Student Senate AWS President AMS President or Head Yell Leader Petitions must be turned in to Dean Carver or any student officer by 4:00 pm today Although there is a limit of one office to a candidate in the general election each student may file for more than one office in the primary election Candidates must turn in a separate petition for each office and each petition must contain at least thirty signatures Students may sign only one petition for each’ office" All petitions should be accompanied by a wallet sized photograph of the candidate The election campaign will continue with the primary assembly on
