Vernon 79-44, Every Milford player scored, led by Brady Williams with 17 points. The following day, the Tigers played the East Carbon Vikings. Milford started off slow, but by halftime had built a 36-19 lead. East Carbon got within 9 in the third quarter, before Milford pulled away again for the 77-50 victory. Once again all of the Tigers scored, this time led by Russell Barnes with 17 points. According to former mercantile owner, Richard Jefferson, the general store, which “sold _ everything from groceries to powder and other mining supplies,” was first opened for business in 1907 by his grandfather, Henry Jefferson, and father, George Jefferson. The original building was gutted by fire, and the handsome brick structure that today stands on Main Street was built in its place in 1915. However, the large frontage sign reading “Jefferson Mercantile Co.,’ * which was painted on "the original building remained.
