Show FEBRUARY Dodge City News 3, 1995 Beaver Board of County Commissioners Unapproved Minutes The Board of County commissioners met on January 9, 1995 at 10:00 am. for its regularly scheduled meeting. Those present were Gary E. _ Sullivan, chairman, Chad W. Johnson, member; Ross Marshall, member; and Paul B. Barton, clerk. Minutes December 6 and of the 27, 1994 meetings were read. It was moved by Comm. Johnson, and seconded by Comm. Marshall and unanimously passed to approve the minutes. It was moved by Comm. Johnson, and seconded by Comm. Marshall and unanimously approved to appoint Gary E. Sullivan as chairman of the Board of Commissioners. All other duties and responsibilities previously assigned will remain the same. The Board met with the following people to discuss the. economic development effort in the county: Beaver City James Robinson, Les Williams, and Steve Atkin; Milford City - Mary Wiseman and Larry Sower; Minersville Town - Howard Pryor; Travel Council - Betty Miller and Brent Stapely; Utah Power - Vince Crawford; County Zoning Administrator Craig Davis. After discussing the matter, it was consensus of the those present to try to pool the efforts of all the organizations present to try to hire a director for economic development for one year and evaluate the situation at that time. Beaver County will fund $10,000 toward the effort and will act as the fiscal agent. The _ present economic development will be corporation abandoned. The annual meeting with UDOT is set for February 28, 1995 at 2:00 p.m. A letter from Robert Weidner that was sent to the BLM re: RS-2477 rights-ofway was read and discussed. The matter was referred to Comm. Sullivan for review with Brian Bremner, the county's engineer on this issue. .A {etter from Minersville Town protesting the current distribution o the swimming pool M & O funds was read. Minersville Town needs to contact the Service District #4 Board . with this issue. _ A letter from the. - State of Utah re: a power line easement request was reviewed. The matter was referred to Comm. Sullivan for action. Steve Atkin, Beaver City Manager, met with the Board to discuss the city's annexation plans. No action was taken. A letter from Ty — PAGE Daige Gite News courts had been recertified, but the Milford Court was still pending because a 4 inch riser had not been constructed. The county attorney will contact the state requesting a waiver for the riser because there is no room in the building for such a structural change. the Milford Justice Court Bene’ Johnson has resigned. Marshall, seconded _ by _Comm. Johnson, and unanimously approved to fund the request. Larry Bell met with the Board to request $2,000 for funding for the Civil Air Patrol. No action was taken. A letter from the State Court Administrator's offices re: certification of the justice court was read. The letter stated that the Beaver and Minersville Ray Smith. county attorney, reported that eh cost in 1995 will exceed 1994. No action was taken. Ken Shulzen, Abe Gillies, and Ken Yardley met with the board to discuss the evaluation of the .and Shad Debbie It was moved Comm. by Johnson, Comm. by seconded Marshall unanimously approved and to offer the position to Shad Bradshaw. Bills on file were approved for payment. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned. . Funding of public defender needs §_ was discussed. Leo G. Kanell, Scheuer, Bradshaw, dependent counties was read. No action was taken. A request to enroll in the dental portion of the county health insurance was discussed.
