Deputy Mine Inspector John Garcia said that Kimbroughs Lone Eagle Mine, a copper mine 12 miles northwest of Carlsbad, had not been registered with the mining inspector as required by state law. The operator also was charged with failing to have a qualified person in charge at the mine and not having first aid equipment and stretchers available. Mine Inspector John Garcia said the mine now has been registered and will be permitted to resume operations when the other requirements are complied with. He said the first information his office had on the mine was an article and pictures of the operation appearing in a recent issue of the Carlsbad paper.
