American Uranium claims the worlds highest uranium deposit located 13 miles southwest of Lake City, Colo., at an elevation over 12,000 feet. This unusual deposit, according to John H. Parsons, American president, is of great interest geologically as it is thought to come from hydrothermal action. Further exploration, Parsons said, is expected to prove a primary ore deposit containing pitchblend. American Uranium has a carload shipment ready to move out. The ores making up this shipment, Parsons reports, were taken from six different outcrops which occur mostly in the form of autenite. According to the Hinsdale County Recorder, Parsons added, there have been 450 claims filed recently in the general area and several companies are starting active exploration on their AMERICAN URANIUM Works Worlds Highest Uranium Deposit At 12,000 Foot Elevation in Colorado Yankee . . Quoting from Mr. Ericksons report on Mineral Canyon: The five days spent in Mineral Canyon were what makes a geologist glad he is in the business. Your 81 claims there are so mineralized and have so many indications that it is a matter of a little debate as where to start. We delineated 7 excellent channel areas where drilling can be commenced immediateon the same ly. Claim No. 4 is concluded to beLaSalle prop flank of the same channel the erties struck their rich uraninite and high grade carbonate ore. Samples from these properties have not been returned as yet, but radioactivity was so prolific that I can assure you that your mill will have excellent ores to process as well as quantity. Channels go every which way, and a number of your tunnels, while being ill located, are with areas that will pay. Ore was observed in the Upper Chinle, the middle and lower. Chinle and in the Shinarump, the entire sequence is mineralized and I expect that large tonnages will be developed with careful and properly directed drilling and analysis of data so obtained. Universal has just purchased 18 claims from Cecil Hansen and Frank Gaisford, near the 4 Corners area at Green River for $36,000.00. This fee was paid in Universal stock at .50 per share Bell and C.
