Lietz who came to Sugarhouse from Germany, where he learned the trade as a boy. He started to work for the Pacific Lumber Co. in 1890. At that time be built a home at 2032 South 10th East. Tenth East was not known below 9th South in those days. W. B. Richard's apple orchard was next to Ur. Lictz'a home. In 1900 he erected his own mill a little frame building 30x30. Since the death of Ur. Lietz In 1928 the mill has been operated by his son Bert,, and at present employees 5 men. Ur. Lietz does mill work for people all over the state. It is the expectation of the Sugar House Planing Uill, to build within the next few months, a new steel and concrete building and when completed will be one of the finest and best equlped mills In the state.
