Those playing the leads on the night we saw it had a lot of musical ability and the orchestra, one of the best we've heard, was well balanced and responsive to director. Considering the thousands of donated man and abundance of good local talent, the production is very impressive. It is not our intention to fully analyse this show as we usually do since it is of a different type and has different goals than the others in the area. Pimubed Valley is offered free to the public as a tourist attraction by the L.D.-Church. It requires a very large effort to mold this given the number of relatively untrained people involved. However, the quality Valley r was there in the form of the outstanding voices of Craig and Christine Glen Slight was entertaining in his role of An interesParsons. ting addition was the use of film to show the burning of Nauvoo and the trek across the plains. Pramlard Valley has two performances nightly but will close this Saturday. We applaud the efforts of involved. Tim-othe- This week marks the end of the summer season for Salt Lke area theatre groups. will be a one week interlude in preparation for the next season and then new will be opening all through the month of September. Our column will subsequently follow the same we hope you miss us next week. ms WEEKS by Chav Thomas LcSucur This Phillip Marlowe story by Raymond Chandler was first made as a vehicle for the old falcon detective series of the forties entitled The falcon Takes Over. Then Dick Powell played Marlowe in another film version called Murder My Sweet. Now, under the real title, Robert Mitchcm gets his chance to play Chandlers popular hero in Elliot Kastncr's version of Farewell my Lovely. After two recent films of Phillip Marlowe, Marlowe h James Garner, and The Good-bywith Elliott in which the character was updated from his late forties surroundings to the present, it's good to sec this hero flack where he belongs. The movie is slow paced, but the story holds a few twists for the who dunnit fan. otherwise the slow pacing may have you nodding away if a good mystery doesn't interest you.
