Business Profile Utah IHOPs Gain Californian as Owner Weeks Dear Editor: As a concerned patron of the Jordan School District I'm upset s. at the present impasse in The superintendent inferred that his absolute refusal to mediate or further negotiate this problem will result in savings to the taxpayers of this district. He says that schools will open on time with or without the tegular teachers. As a patron of this district I question the superintendents wisdom on loading the dassroom with substitutes, parents or a flock of The first few V1 ftew teachers. nego-tation- days and weeks of school ire always very impressionable times to children. These first few days and weeks can make or break a students year. It seems that the Jordan Education Association has gone more than half way to keep this very situation from coming After all there are 1400 in this district, teachers plus many of which have children that attend these same schools. It would be well for the superintendent to remember thst teachers are taxpayers also. It then 'appeafs thai'the only solution Superintendent Parr will accept is the total and complete surrender of the J.E.A. on his and the Board of Educations terms. Again the other dtizens of this district better stop and think of the possible consequences of that much power resting with so few a men. It is then evident that what is reslly it stake here is the good old American right to bargain and negotiate. I commend the teachers of the Jordan School District for their courage to stand for thcscr rights. . Bob Fens, new owner-manag- for IHOP er . ... A Contented Citizen J .. a., i .i . i ill a.
