According to measurements made by the U. S. Geological Survey in cooperation with the Utah State Engineer, Department of Natural Resources, this elevation of 4,198.10 feet above mean sea level reflects a rise of 6.75 feet since October, 1963, when the all-tirecord low of 4,191.35 feet was recorded. of the fluctuations of the lake date back to 1851, when the water elevation Observations was about 4,201 feet above mean sea level.
