The reason I know is because an old friend of our family is now living in Logan and has been teaching Danish hardangcr embroidery to members of her relief society and to others in the Logan area. Mrs Kirby is going on 87. Iicr reputation as a teacher of handicraft is widely known in the area. 1 remember that the prettiest sweater I ever had when I was a child living in Racine, Wis., was made by our near neighbor and friend, Julia Iiercc, a widow. It was and I thought it was marvelous because the pockets were knitted in and seemed to me like the eighth wonder of the world. She was later to marry a Mormon and live in Grace, Idaho, before making her home in Logan. Always a religious woman who practised her religion, Mrs Kirby, in devoting so much of her time to other people and keeping busy with her home and hobbies, is one of the most content and peaceful women I have ever known. Sometime ago she presented the Logan LDS Temple with a beautiful altar cloth. Hardangcr is one of the most beautiful of the embroidery crafts. The closest thing to it that I have evi-- r sen is .. The auxiliary loaned the Utah chapter of graphoanalysts their blue and gold flag of Utah to be used during a special salute to new chapters at the opening general assembly of the International Graphoanalysis Society, Inc. Leslie Wagner King, NEIGHBOR staff writer and president of the Utah chapter, was the state's first official delegate to the IGAS Congress. The chapter was chartered June 16, when the president of the international society, V. Peter Ferrara flew to Utah to officiate at the ceremony personally. The week long convention attracted members and delegates from 45 states and five provinces of Canada. The tone of the convention was serious, emphasizing specialized classes, lectures and refresher courses. Harry T.
