The purpose of the "Citizen Now" conference is to focus the attention of all mirExplorers on the fact that there is no acle age at which they suddenly .leave the stage of preparation and become active citlosns. A conference based on the purposes listed below should bring about an Explorer's analysis of what nis place in society Is and what he should do about it now. The conference hopes to demonstrate to Explorers that they are participating moersof their homes and communities today and that the privileges and obligations they have are as real and important now as they will be when the Explorers become adult! The conference hopes to help these young men to attain status in the eyes of their parents, leaders, and the general public. It hopes to give Explorers the opportunity to meet and listen to outstanding leaders in business, education, religious, and social fields. It hopes to encourage young men in their vocational aspirations by bringing them in contact with Post activities and superactivities. It hopes to bring about a public awareness of the importance of the Explorer pregram and help Explorers realize that they are a part of a big powerful movement.
