Muse, Salt Lake County Republican chairman, today announced he will seek the GOP nomination for secretary of state. Mr. Muse, a Salt Lake County businessman, is the second Republican to announce for the post. In his statement of candidacy, Mr. Muse declared he wants "to combine my years of experience in Republican Part organizations with my business experience and serve the people of this state in the position of secretary of state. "As county chairman of the Republican Party, I have worked closely with county Republican officials to bring more efficient less costly government to the county. "Our state financial situation has deteriorated to the point that this same type of streamlining of government is necessary, or the taxpayers of Utah will face a major tax increase in file next biennium.
