This was the opinion of WiN liam A. Dawson, former Republican congressman from Utah. Mr. Dawson was the guest speaker at a meeting of members of the Business and Professional Republican Womens Club. The meeting was held last Wednesday in Salt Lake City. The Congress of the U.S., former Rep. Dawson said, is the worlds most deliberative body. At a recent meeting of the Executive Committee under President Don Stott, various committees were appointed to round out the details of planned events. Of course, there will be the usual social gatherings (eats and all) during the year for all club members. But the Executive Committee decided that wasn't enough. So, beginning with the meeting on April 6, monthly general gatherings will be held at the City Commission Chambers, 7:30 p.m. All club members are urged to attend and participate in the varied activities that will be presented. An active program committee has plans well in hand to provide outstanding speakers in fields of general political interest, discussion groups on current problems and maybe a bit of entertainment from time to time. Club officers are hoping that increasing attendance will soon make the Commission Chambers much too small for the monthly meeting t criti-cis- m ters and wives on the payroll at roll information of its members exorbitant salaries. secret I have always been of the opinThe speaker criticized a pendion that Congress should lead the ing proposal to give each repreway and set the example for other sentative an additional assistant at branches of government.
