Duchesne, Utah Opening Date: February 27, 1973 dosing Date: March 13, 1973 Duties A Qualifications: Performs duties in several craft positions in repair and maintenance of buddings and utilities. Must be qualified with knowledge of blueprints, codes, and able to plan and complete assignments. Under the immediate supervisor, receives shop orders and assignments and completes projects under duties as listed below: Repairs electrical panels, master weather-heads- , breakers, fuses, switches, switches, plugs, controls, thermostats, broken wire and other items related to electricity. Builds shelves; repairs dry well; shingles roofs, tiles; repairs doors, windows and hardware; builds forms; replaces worn boards in floors on siding; hangs insulation; paints borders, trim, frames, walls, ceilings. Repairs or replaces worn parts on furnaces, sinks, water lines, filters, reservoirs, hot water heaters, disposals and other related fixtures. Cuts and threads pipe; makes connections with elbows, nipples, tees, unions, valves in various sizes. Performs miscellaneous maintenance in repair of lawn mowers, and other equipment used in repair and maintenance. Must be a dependable person willing to work long hours as instructed by supervisor. According to Tom Appah, Ute Tribe Housing Authority Director, the next project in the communities of Ouray, Randlett and Fort Duchesne will be layed for twelve to eighteen months. The delay, a result of Federal cutback on budgets as prescribed by President Nixons Economy Program, will affect approximately 25 families. His appointment became effective last month with the dismissal of framer chief of police, Ray Wardle. Temporarily assigned to the U&O Reservation to assist with law and order problems is Robert Galvan of Carson City, Nev. Galvan came to the Bureau of Indian Affairs from Arizona Highway Patrol and has served details at the San Carlos, Ariz., and Owyhee, Nev., agencies. Galvan is headquartered in the Social Services 10-ye- ar offices at the BIA building. New to the police force in the past two months are Carlos Reed who patrols t he Ouray area, and Wilard Gardner, general patrol Larry Murray has also been added to the staff as night watchman. Completing the police force are Kenneth Pickup and Merle Capwell, Randlett area; Lloyd Arrowchis, Whiterocks; Leon Perank, Fort Duchesne; Robert Tapoof, police officer, jailer and dispatcher; Franklin Murray, jailer and dispatcher, and Rodell Cesspooch, jailer. Three matrons employed at the jail, serve meals and attend to the needs of the inmates. Matrons are Sandra Murray, Ethel Grant, and Etta McCurdy. Eileen Lucero serves as clerk with Marjorie A. Tapoof as court cleric for Judge Henry Upchego and Associate Judge Norma Jean Gray. Probation problems are handled by Robert Hicks, Adult Probation Officer. |
