The program centered around the Ute culture and customs portraying stories, sign language, dances, and songs. The Northern Ute Singers consisting of Jimmy Murray, Darrell LaRose, Leo Ron Cuch, Manuel Myore, Carleen Ignacio, and Daisy Jenks, provided the songs for the round and turkey dances. The name of the band is Soft Impressions and the theme for the prom is Pieces of April". The following night is the Post Prom and the decorations from the Junior Prom will be used for the Post Prom. So everybody start getting your dates. The Journalism Club is sponsoring an Ugly Leg Contest. The patidpants are Union's own male faculty. Pictures have been taken and will be displayed on posters in the halls with bottles attached. And the picture with the most pennies, nickles, dimes, quarters and dollars will be the new Ugly Legs of TO. IJlHHH Roll Congratulations go to Ed Secakuku, a senior and only Ute Student on this quarters honor roll. Ed made the honor roll with a 8.78 grade average. Ed is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Homey Secakuku. Also we would like to congratulate BQly Streitx, a sophomore this year. He made this quarter's honor roll with a grade point average of 8.73. Billy is the son of Mr. ami Mrs. William Streitx. Poster Winners Congratulations are also in order for LaRee Arrowchis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Arrowchis, Whiteroeks, wd hwlla Murdock, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Colin Murdock, Fort Duchesne. The girls were among the top three winners in the dental health poster contest at Union High School Art Contest next month and will vye for dwh prizes. |
