They include Mrs. Robert Barber, president; Mrs. Albert Colton, Mrs. Clarence Bamberger Jr., Mrs. Ray Dobbins, Mrs. Walker Kennedy. The Reading Room has provided a gathering spot for members of the blind community in Salt Lake City for 64 years. (It was established in 1908.) Volunteers will provide transportation to the Murray B. Allen Blind Center, where the Reading Room is located. Any visually handicapped person may visit the Center. How hus- This was the topic of discussion when members of the University of Utah Law Wives met last Thursday for A Rap with the Profs. The annual event was held in the Moot Court Room at the University of Utah Law School. A panel of University professors discussed the special problems faced by those going into law, and how wives can better understand their hus- bands chosen fields. Included on the panel were Wallace R. Bennett, associate dean of the College of Law; Prof. Edwin B. Firmage, Prof. Dennv O. Ingram, Prof. Owen Olpin. In charge was Mrs. Steve Gunn, vice president of the Law Wives. The ladies of the Selective Service in Salt Lake City will host a party for the Federal Womens Club at the Elks Lodge, 139 East South Temple, on Saturday, February 19, at 12:30 p.m. Party chairman is Mrs. Ted Metz. is Mrs. W. E Stonebreaker, chief administrator, and U. Ulenn Conover, chief of social work service were speakers at the Salt Lako Council of Women meeting, held Monday at the Salt Lake City Public Library. as Mr. Stonebreaker spoke about the general hospital situation. Mr. Conover discussed the outplacement program at the hos-itas it relates to veterans. The program was under the direction of Mrs. Elmo H. Holman, assisted by Mrs. Thelma Schmidt and Mrs. Boyd M. Pexton. al NEW ROLE For GIRL SCOUT REPS Recently the board of directors of the Utah Council decir ded to add a new dimension to the role of community representative that of the expanded responsibility of financial - coordinator. Coincidnetally with this decision the board gave Mrs. Douglas R. (Barbara) Johnson, third vice president, the additional responsibility of and S.M.E., along with her present duties of heading community relations. According to the Council President, Mrs. R. H. Nickerson, these changes were made solely for the purpose of providing the Neighborhoods with more help in the area of fund fund-raisi- ng that the Sustaining Membership Enrollment is a United method of supplemen- Fund-approv- ed ting the United Funds allocation to the Utah Girl Scout Council with an amount necessary to carry out the Girl Scout program and provide the services vital to a good program. It is equally important to remember and to remind all adult volunteers, parents and friends of Girl Scouts that the major portion of all contributions and allocations to the Council return to the neighborhoods and troops in the form of equipment, training, professional services, brochures, pamphlets and printed material such as .The TROOPER. 16th Birthday raising. The club observed its 16th birthday of the BPW Women s Foundation, the first foundation and research, center devoted to the problems of working women. Mrs. Uinta Bullock and Mrs. Evelyn Elmer reported on research projects financed by the foundation. Mrs. Ted Miller and Mrs. Burl Davis were in charge of the program. Mrs. Elma president, presided.
