Cook County, which also happens to include the City of Chicago, has more than 100,000 acres of land in farms, it sells more than $16,000,000 worth of farm products a year, and the average sales per farm total more tfcrn $22,000 annually." Last year we op- posed the amendment to raise legislators pay because it removed the authority to make changes from the constitution. We have no such objections to this amendment." the Farm Bureau staffer explained. The final amendment proposed is one to give the legislature authority to remove Judges from office. Under the present system, it was explained, judges who might be incapable oftheresponslbiUties of their office because of senility or illness or misconduct cannot be removed except by impeachment. This is a difficult procedure and is rarely used. The new amendment would provide machinery to remove such men from office without resorting to impeachment procedure. appeared in the April edition of the WASHINGTONIAN permission. Russia followed this policy of government controlled agriculture to the point where they realized it was either change or starve. So they initiated a system which was a stab at providing the farmer with a profit motive immediately their agriculture production increased. It is a great paradox now to watch the United States drift towards the Russian system which never did work and the smart Russians apply the American system which even they realize is the greatest success story the world has ever known-farm- ers producing abundant food to build a healthy and prosperous nation. 3 200 ft. 10 Inch $1.25 ft.
