S 8 concere(l opinion of the editors that the Open Door must present a dignified and respectable attitude in fond hopes that the members of the gay community may also be seen as dignified and respectable. Under present administration. the Open Door will continue to shun the obscene and pornographic. There are other magazines and papers which in of this type indulge sensationalism, and we do not wish to compete with this media. It is felt that the Open Door can best serve the interests of the gay community by presenting a positive and affirmative attitude that the dominant groups can begin to understand our problems and attitudes, and through this educaional process, we can learn to appreciate each other and the sexuality of the groups. We hope to stress the common goals we all have towards life, and minimize the few differences we may have. .. e u,y ! i I Minutes GSC MEETING reuar monthbr meeting of GSX.C was called to order at the home G., SLC. at 8:30 p.m. Minutes of previous meeting was approved as read and published in the last issue of the OPEN DOOR. None of us are "duds, let alone complete "duds". I am not just a bunch of liabilities. I have a lot of assets. This first week I am going to write a list of my assets. How about you writing a list of yours... the things LIFE has already given you for which you are...or ought to be thankful. There is Power in gratitude. You generate positive power like a battery, in proportion to your thankfulness. Gratitude for the good you already have is the first step in the expansion of your personality and life. There is deep mystical, psychological power in this thought of Shakespeare: "Oh Lord who lends me life, lend me a heart replete cap-acityf- . with gratitude.' You stand in your own pattern at this moment because that is one you have created by the thoughtsplanted in the Inner Mind. Systemically plant and cultivate a new pattern of thoughts in the mind, and you harness its tremendous power to happiness. Change your thought and you create a new life. twiiMiwwvwmvmnnmtmmwtwwuwww1 |
