In Rome they saw the Vatican, St Peters Cathedral, the Vatican Museum with all its statues of all living animals and the tapestry paintings, the coliseum, the CLs-teChapel and the Catacombs. $ Sheryl and Gordon Lasley newcomers to Smithfield live at 150 North Main. They both work at Cache Valley Dairy. She is a cheese wrapper and Gordon is a maintenance man. His parents are Jo and Gordon Lasley in Thatcher and Sheryls are Colleen and Lament Richards, Garland. ne They all took a tour id the Isle of Capri then saw Naples, Mount Vesivius then to Madrid, Spain and toured the southern part of Spain on the coast of the Mediterranean. They saw the bull ring in Madrid. They were there when Franco passed away. They also attended the LDS Church branch. They report there are 40 LDS missionaries in Madrid. There is an English speaking and Spanish speaking IDS church. They enjoyed the many castles, saw the loaded burros, also saw a team of oxen. Spain has the old and the new methods. They crossed the Sierras and toured in a horse and wagon. They were gone two weeks. Cleon works for an airlines company. Reid Hoggan flew to Taiwan and Egypt on a business trip. He stopped at Tokyo and rode the bullet train 500 miles toKplig at 120 miles an hour to visit a niece, Sandra Hoggan of Salt Lake City on a mission for the LDS Church. Her parents are Peggy and George Hoggan. The Smithfield Sixth Ward Primary held a Christmas party in the room Friday evening with president of the Primary, Shirley Bartschi in charge. Barbara Benson was chairman of the event with Ann Humphreys in charge of the dinner, turkey and all the trimmings was served to over 50. Barbara S packman sent out the invitations. Marilyn Clark led the games after milti-purpo- dinner. se White elephants were exchanged. Special guests were Bishop Don Williams, Joan and Merrill Brown, Helen and Robert Chambers and Mary and Cyril Ledingham. Linda Tams was in charge of decorations carrying out the Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus theme. The infant daughter of Ileen and Alan Bird was blessed and given the name of Angela Ileen in meeting in the Seventh Ward by her father. Dinner was held at the Bird home following services Present, besides the Birds, were grandparents, Doris Ed Scott, Smithfield, and Aleen Bird, Logan. Also, aunts and uncles, Alice and Lund Pehrson, Mary Ann and Darrell Roskelley and daughter, James and Susan Pehrson and daughter, Mrs. Margaret Noble, Scott and Janice Borchert and son and DeAnn and Jerry Smith and three children, Layton. Dinner was served at the Brown home. Mrs. Vera Quinney, former resident of Smithfield, having lived at the Mable Godfrey apartments, now living in Los Angeles, is recovering from a major operation. She was at the Rose Loose Medical Center in Los Angeles. Mrs. Lucy Cooper, Smith-fielcelebrated her birthday with her daughters at the Idaho Cafe in Franklin.
