Donates Automobile Parts to Area Schools The automotive programs in Utah schools will be richer by $49,657.30 worth of automotive equipment as of Wednesday. Ford Marketing Corporation and the Salt Lake City Ford Motor Dealer Community Relations Committee are making the donation. Representing Ford Motor Co., and making the presentation will be Allen Merrill, vice president of Civil and Governmental Affairs. Dr. Jay J. Campbell, deputy superintendent, Utah State Board of Education, will accept this equipment on behalf of the recipient schools. Also in attendance will be Clyde L. Miller, Secretary of State, who is representing Gov. Rampton. The school districts that will receive the equipment are Davis, Salt Lake, Granite, Jordan and Murray. The vocational directors of the districts will attend as will the principals and one automotive teacher of each of the following high schools: East, West, South, Salt Lake District; Murray, Murray District; Bingham, Brighton, Hillcrest and Jordan, Jordan District; Cyprus, Cottonwood, Graiger, Granite, Kearns, Olympus and Skyline, Granite District. The equipment donated has included: both 6 and 8 cylinder engines, air conditioners, rear end assemblies, transmission, (automatic and standard) car bodies, and a diesel power train. Dr. Campbell, in commenting on the gifts, said, We are extremely appreciative of the donation to the Utah schools of this equipment.
