But piece by piece and nibble by nibble, I let him have the whole thing. Poor old Norman Thomas, the Socialist who ran for the Presidency six times, made the mistake of asking for the whole pie. Try as he would, he simply couldn't get elected President on the Socialist ticket. People who had never voted came out to vote particularly against him. Yet, under the name of Liberalism, and nibble by nibble and piece by piece, Democrats aided and abetted by Republicans (the last Kiplinger Letter said the Republicans are acting like Democrats), have corralled almost the whole American herd. Back on the ranch, we had a system which really worked to get the coyrs branded. We always arranged to have more cows trying to get into the chute than the number backing out. This system always succeeded in corralling and branding them all. It is sure hard to understand why the American people are trying to get into the branding chute. ton correspondent for the National Health Federation. In that position he monitors bills before Congress that are concerned with matters of health. He also keeps an eye on other committees and organizations that may have something to do with government policies on health. He reports his observations in the monthly bulleten of the National Health Federation. Clinton Miller is a native of Salt Lake valley and is a graduate of the University of Utah. He claims to have become interested in the health food business from his studying the Bible with the many references to nutrition, health, and foods contained therein. His address in Salt Lake covered several points that bear repeating. It was indicated that among the nations of the world the United States rates number 37th in health. If that wasn't bad enough, he points out, we are 37th and getting worse. Among the reasons for this condition is the monopoly on health care the American Medical Association enjoys in this country. Other points that were made were the ways of influencing Congress. He says Form letters and postcards are as good or better than personal letters.'' The reason for this is that form letters and postcards indicate tliat the people sending them are organized. If there is anything that a politician fears or respects it is an organized body of people. He doesn't have to take time to read all of them to know the opinions of a great number of people. Mr. Miller stresses that people in public office are more receptive to this type of influence than most others. One of his current projects is the circulation of the following letter that he requests be sent to the various Congressmen. Dear Congressman with drug. To accomplish this please arrange for a conference Burk. Clinton R. Miller, Dr. Miles II. Robinson, and Dr. Dean 3.
