BEAUTIFUL AND COOL CANYONS WEATHER has been rather during the past week,, but Salt Lakers are fortunate in being able to go to mountain retreats and escape the heat. Brighton is perhaps the favored spot. Hotel accommodations are good and the weather is always cool there. Few cities can be found where one has access to either mountain or lake resorts within a few minutes or hours ride of the city. Miss Louise Covey and Owen Covey have gone to California, where they will remain for several weeks. Miss Ellen Cosgriff of Denver is a guest at the OBrien home in Miss Dorothy Lynch, a graduate of St. Mary of the Woods, Indiana, has . Mr. and Mrs. Joseph R. Murdock have as their guest Mrs. Leland Wentz of Chicago. Miss Mary Jane Soules of Burlingame is visiting her grandfather, W. J. Halloran, and Miss Kate Halloran. Miss Lulu Keyting left during the week for Los Angeles to visit her sister, Miss Helen Keyting. They are guests of Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Mrs. Forbes Keith and Miss Beverly Keith of Cleveland, Ohio, have arrived for a visit with Mrs. Keiths mother, Mrs. Emerson F. Root. Mrs. Root and her guests will leave shortly for Los Angeles, San Francisco and the Canadian Rockies. Though July is not quite as popular a bridal month as June, several weddings are scheduled for the near future. Miss Mae Jones and Albert Squires, Jr., will be married by Dean W. W. Fleetwood at the St. Marks cathedral at high noon today. After a wedding trip to California the couple will be at home in Salt Lake. Miss Ellen Neilson returned home during the week, accompanied by her sister, Mrs. Weston Vernon, Jr., of Washington, D. C.
