Efforts to raise money for sending the Carbon high band to Logan are receiving the wholehearted support of the public, according to Dr. H. B. Goetzman, a member of the committee .In charge of financing the trip. One of the largest crowds of the year attended the April Fool day dance held at the Silver Moon hall Saturday evening to raise money for this purpose. The Helper Mutual Improvement association will present a play in the high school auditorium Wednesday of next week, and all proceeds will be turned over to the band for expenses on the Logan trip. Three other band benefit entertainments have been scheduled. A concert will be presented by the band at Mutual Friday, and on the following evening, the Carbon high orchestra will play for a dance at Standard ville. Another concert will be presented by the band Tuesday, April 18, at Castle Gate under the sponsorship of the Welfare association of that community. The committee is very appreciative of the support given by the above towns, and publicly extends thanks for the part these communities have taken in raising money for the trip. conflagration had been extinguished by the Price fire department, another fire was discovered in the vacant quarters in the Silvagni building formerly occupied by the Atwood barber shop. Both the solo and ensemble events will be staged at the Carbon high huimwg Class C and Clam D concerts will be held at the tabernacle at 1 JO p. m. Friday.
