There ia a boy living at Penarth, Glamorganshire, who ha existed entirely on milk since hi birth six ytara Pacific ago. MarkeL His name 1 Arthur Keene. He lives with hla mother and father, and he is one of four children. He will not take anything but milk. The chotOiSi moiaeis o! food have been offered him, but he refuses to be coaxed away from his milk diet. On one occasion his mother forced food down hit thro', but it made him ill at once, and he asked for milk. His diet each week consists uf thirty pints of milk mlxnl with sugar and water, which is by no means an excessive quantity for even a infant. Yet in spite of his scanty and monotonous diet, the boy to fully developed. of normal size and of good weight. He ia .Inclined to be a bit rickety, and la rattier nervous. He attend Penarth council school, and is of a most cheerful disposition. He has puzzled the doctors of Penarth. They have carefully examined him and they confess that the rave baffle them completely. One doctor saw him last Sunday, and expressed the opinion that It was extraordinary that the boy should be ao- well after living solely on milk for six years. Only one other similar case lo on record that of a girl living at Monrice lk, Ya. New York. July 3d. Speculative op erators encountered some difficulties today in the amount of stocks sold to realm profits which were made attractive by the considerable advances achieved last week. Monday morning is a favorite occasion for profit taking in a bull movement, owing to a well grounded propensity to embark on new ventures with the opening of a week which brings a larger installment of new buying order into the market at that time than any other. Apparently the incipient speculative tendency will lie dormant for a time, while professional operators are busy with the market and will be awakened into action by the consideration of week-ensummaries. The accumulation of buyis always ing orders over a week-enwatched for speculative holders to a market for absorbing profit taking aales. The manner In which these are absorbed is regurded aa an important index of the tone of the mar-keThe buying orders on hand this morning from outside sources were not of ImposiK proportions according to the complaints of commission houses. The supplying of stocks was done with care and the market was taken cars of by skillful handling so that small impression was made upon prices. Thera were Influential advices in special stocks at the same time which served as sustaining effects or. the general list. The renewed advance In Southern Pacific to the highest point on the movement was a nota ble example. The disturbing effect of the evidence of profit taking v.aa much aggravated by a slump in Consolidated Gas when official announcement was made that the Brooklyn Union Cat management had determined to suspend the payment of dividends unit' further notin. The possible had effect upon securities of the measures and agitation directed against corporation has been much in the mind of the market operators up to the recent rise In stocks, since which time tl has been relegated to the background. Continued iterations of an early dividend for Pouthern Pacific and tha strong showing expected of the United 8teel quarterly statement of net showings to be published tomorrow, were elements in the strength of these stocks. The market did not of .the gas throw off the dividend passing, although there was some rally, but the closing was Irregular. Bonds were Irregular. Total tales, par value, 11,946,000. the 3a coupon U. Dempster was taken to the Washington county Jail at Washington, Pa. While no bloodstains were found on the prisoner, suspicion first rested on him last night when it was learned that he was the last person seen about the house before the tragedy. Dempster waa a helper ou the Pearce farm Samuel and, after the departure Pearce with hla, sister, Miss Fanny Pearce, for the Canonaburg railroad station, Dcftipaier Is said to have been at the scene of the tragedy looking after the stock. The only things missing from the Pearce home are $12 and th revolver with which Mrs. Pearce and her two children were murdered. Robert Pearce, three years old, the only survivor of the awful tragedy, who was shot through the body, will be brought to the CanonBburg general hospital in an effort to save his life.
